1 Make a new movie [CTRL+N] . I will change my movie size to 100x100 pixels (Modify>Movie) and change it to black background.
2 Enter any text on your movie. I used "Windings" font on this example.
While the text is still selection, convert this to "Graphics Symbol" by pressing F8 -or- Modify>Convert to Symbol. Enter a name for your Symbol and choose Graphic then hit OK.
3 On your timeline, right-click your mouse on Frame 10 and choose Insert Keyframe.
4 Modify the Instance property of the object at Frame 10. You can do this by clicking your mouse "once" at Frame 10, then on your menu, choose Modify>Instance. This will activate the Instance Property dialogue box. Under the Color Effect tab, follow the same settings as shown below.
5 Click your mouse once at Frame 20, then go to Instance Properties (Modify>Instance). Go to Color Effect tab and follow the same settings as shown below.
Double-clicking your mouse somewhere between Frame 1 and Frame 9 will activate the Frame Properties Dialogue box
6 Double-click your mouse anywhere between Frame 1 and Frame 9. Under the "Tweening Tab", choose Motion as the "Tweening Type". Leave the other settings as it is. Hit OK and press [CTRL+Enter] to preview your movie.
7 Insert another "Keyframe" at Frame 20. To do this, right-click your mouse at Frame 20 and choose Insert Keyframe.
Click your mouse once at Frame 20, modify instance properties (Modify>Instance). Change the Alpha value to 100% under the "Color Effect Tab".
Double-click your mouse somewhere between Frame 11 and Frame 19.Under the "Tweening Tab", choose Motion as the Tweening type. Hit OK and press [CTRL+Enter] to preview your movie.
