Metallic Wire 2

5 Select all active data by pressing [CTRL+A] (you will notice the whole image became your current selection), now pick the Selection Tool and click your mouse once anywhere on your image.

The line should become your current selection.  Save the selection to Alpha Channel (Selections>Save to Alpha Channel) and name it Wire

 

 

6 Contract your selection by 8 (Selections>Modify>Contract).  Add another layer (Layers>New Raster Layer).  Set your  foreground color to White by clicking on the color swatcher.

Apply a solid color fill on your current selection

 

 

7 Pick the selection tool and press [CTRL+A].  Click your mouse once anywhere on your image.  This will highlight the white line inside your wire. 

(This is to ensure that we capture all data on your current layer)

Move your mouse on top of the white line, you will notice that your mouse pointer changes  the Mover icon , now drag the current selection near to the upper edge of your wire.

 

 

8 Load the Wire selection (Selections>Load From Alpha Channel) and apply a Gaussian Blur filter (Image>Blur>Gaussian Blur) Radius = 5

DO NOT deselect the current selection.
