3 While text selection is active, hit the Delete key on your keyboard.  Then, load the saved text selection from the Alpha Channel (Selections>Load from Alpha Channel).

 

 
4  While text selection is active, apply the Cutout Filter (Effects>3D Effects>Cutout).

Cutout Settings:
Vertical and Horizontal Settings = 3     Opacity = 90    Blur  = 5     Color = White
(Note that the vertical and horizontal setting varies depending on the actual size of your font)
