Carbon Text

Tutorial is written for Paint Shop Pro 9. Most of the methods used are compatible with Paint Shop Pro 6, 7, 8 and 10.

1 Start a new 500x150 pixels, white background image. Pick the Type Text Tool and enter any text as shown below. Save selection to Alpha Channel (Selections > Load/Save Selection > Save Selection to Alpha Channel).
Font Settings:
Font = Impact
Color = #808080
Create as = Floating
Size = 100
Stroke = 0

| 2 Decrease selection by 3 pixels (Selections > Modify > Contract). Note that the pixel size varies depending on the size of your text.

| 3 We will be using an image fill on your current selection. First, save the file carbonfiber_texture.jpg file below by simply right-clicking on it, and choose Save-as. Open this image in Paint Shop Pro. Note that the actual image size of the image below is 4x4 pixels.
