Rust & Scratches

Tutorial is written for Paint Shop Pro 9. The methods used are compatible with Paint Shop Pro 7, 8.

3rd Party Filter:  MuRa's Cloud Filter

 
 

1 Download and install MuRa's Cloud Filter.  Tutorial on how to install plug-ins is right here.

Start a new 300x300 pixels, white background image.
Add a new raster layer ( Layers > New Raster Layer ).  Pick the Type Text Tool and enter text as shown.




Text Settings:
  • Font = Elephant
  • Size = 200
  • Create as Floating
  • Stroke = 0

  • Fill = Duotone Brown
  • Type = Linear Gradient
  • Angle = 217

 

 
2 Apply Mosaic Glass Filter on the text selection ( Effects > Texture Effects > Mosaic Glass )

Mosaic Glass Settings:

 
3 Deselect selection by pressing CTRL+D.
Apply MuRa's Cloud filter ( Effects > Plugins > MuRa's Meister > Cloud ).  Load the Rust preset as shown below.  Click on the source base twice.
