 Creating a Selection Using the Pen Tool

Tutorial is written for Paint Shop Pro 9. The methods used are compatible with Paint Shop Pro 7, 8 and 10.

1 Open an existing image.

 

 
2  Choose the Pen Tool  by pressing "V" key. 

Set Fill Color to None.


Create your first node by clicking on Point A once.  Then, click on Point B (don't release your mouse yet!) and drag your mouse all the way to Point C.

 

 
3  Right-click your mouse on Node B (Point B) and change Node Type to "Cusp".  Cusp node type is for nodes that have extreme changes in direction.
