Tutorial is written for Paint Shop Pro 9. The methods used are compatible with Paint Shop Pro 7, 8 and Paint Shop Pro X.

| 1 Open an existing picture. Duplicate background layer (Layers>Duplicate).

| 2 Apply Colorize filter on topmost layer by pressing Shift+L (hue=0 saturation=0). Again, apply Colorize filter but this time on background layer (hue=255 saturation=255).
