Installing Plugins

1 Every time you you download a plug-in, it usually comes in a Zipped format. Zip is native in Windows XP, otherwise you'll have to download Winzip or 7zip.

(Note: Not all plug-ins comes in Zip format, some are self-install)

Now, extract the downloaded plug-in to your Paint Shop Pro Plug-ins folder.

To verify your Plug-ins folder location, open your Paint Shop Pro program, click on File > Preferences > File Locations > Plug-ins

Default Paint Shop Pro plug-in folders location is as follows:

Paint Shop Pro 6    C:\Program Files\Paint Shop Pro 6\Plugins
Paint Shop Pro 7    C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 7\Plugins
Paint Shop Pro 8    C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 8\Plugins
Paint Shop Pro 9    C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 9\PlugIns

2 Ok, let's practice... assuming you have Windows XP and using Paint Shop Pro 9. Now, proceed to Mura's Filter Meister site and download the Cloud filter. Save the file mmCloud22.zip plug-in onto your desktop or your favorite download folder.

Now, double-click the file mmCloud22.zip to display the files inside the archive. Right-click your mouse over the file mmCoud.8bf then choose "Copy" from the drop down menu.

3 Now, open your Paint Shop Pro 9 Plug-ins folder -- right-click your mouse anywhere on the content window and choose "Paste". This'll create a copy the file mmCoud.8bf inside the Plugins folder.

4 And finally, open your Paint Shop Pro program, then click on Effects > Plugins > MuRa's Meister > Cloud to activate the plug-in.
