Look Ma, No Jaggies
Requirements: PSP6/PSP7

This tutorial is to show you how you can lessen the jaggies when creating 3D rounded objects by using the Inner Bevel Filter.

1 Make a 300 x 200, 16 million colors and Black background image.  Set foreground color to light gray (RGB = 192) and background color to black.

2 Make an ellipse selection on your new image (antialias = on).
3 Move your mouse pointer somewhere near the "X" spot and while holding down the [CTRL] key, draw a smaller ellipse inside your current selection.  Using the [CTRL] key allows you to subtract from an active selection.

4 Repeat step 3 by making another elliptical selection at the red spots.  You can save the current selection to alpha channel (Selection>Save to Alpha Channel) for later use.

5 Apply a solid color fill on your current selection.

6 Apply the Inner Bevel filter (Image>Effects>Inner Bevel) using the settings shown below.

I recommend you play more with the Inner Bevel Settings to produce more smooth edges.
Light Color:
R = 111  G = 88  B = 63

Resulting Image:

7 Contract selection by 1 (Selections>Modify>Contract).  Invert selection (Selections>Invert) and press [Delete] key.

Invert selection again (Selections>Invert).  Press [CTRL+C] to place a copy of the current selection to a clipboard, then press [CTRL+E] to place clipboard content into a textured image.
