Fun Lines

One powerful feature that I like with PSP7 is the ability to draw a Point-to-Point line, edit and add nodes, hence you can form a shape and add a texture (gradient, pattern filled) even define your own line style. This tutorial will show you how to create some wires with this PSP7's feature.

First, let's do some practice in drawing Point-to-Point lines.  Pick the Drawing Tool and under the Tool Options, choose Point-to-Point Line, Width = 1, Line Style = Dash with Arrowhead End (see figure 1)

• To create a straight line -
  Left-click your image (Point 1) release the button while at Point 2 
• To create a curved line -
  Left-click your mouse on your image (Point 1) and then release the mouse button.  Left-click at Point 2 and drag it in any direction.

Use these settings under the Draw Tool Options Window,
Type = Point-to-Point
Width = 10
Line Style = Small Dash
Anti-alias = Checked
Create as Vector = Checked
Close Path = Not checked

Once all are set, while still at the Draw Tool Option Window, click on Custom Button.  Left-click on the "Gap icon" and change the Gap value to 7 (see image below)

Then click Save as New, and enter "My Line" as the Styled Line Name.

5 Set foreground color to Red then set Fill Style to Solid Color and both Textures Style to NONE

Start drawing a curved line and your image should look something like as shown at the left after you quit editing.

Now, convert the current layer to Raster layer (Layers>Convert to Raster Layer)

Now, convert the current layer to Raster layer (Layers>Convert to Raster Layer)

Press [CTRL+A] to highlight all object on your image.  Pick the Selection Tool and left-click your mouse once anywhere on your image.  You will notice that the dash lines becomes your active selection.
