AWG Wires
Requirements: PSP6/PSP7
1 Prepare a textured background  or start a new 16 million colors, white background image.  Set foreground color to black and background to white.


2 Click on Layers>New>Ok

3 Select the "Draw Tool" and  follow the same settings as shown in Figure 1a.

Click on the "Draw Option" tab and set the follow the same settings as shown in Figure 1b

4 Drag your mouse from Point A to Point B (See Figure 2).

5 Click your mouse "once" somewhere near "Point C" (See Figure 3)

6 Click your mouse "once" somewhere near "Point D". This should form a Bezier curve as shown in Figure 4.

7 Press [CTRL+A].  Pick the "Selection" tool selection.gif (869 bytes)(any settings) and click your mouse "once" anywhere on your image.  You will notice that the "line" becomes your active selection.

Click on Selections>Save>Save to Alpha Channel>Ok>Ok.

Click on Selections>Modify>Contract, Pixel = 6

Click on Layers>Properties and place a check under the "Lock Transparency" checkbox

 


8 Set Foreground Color to White and Background color to Black.

Fill the active selection with "White Color" using the following settings:

Fill Style = Solid Color
Blend Mode = Normal
Paper Texture = None
Match Mode = None
Opacity = 100

9 Now, pick the "Selection Tool" and move the white line closer to the upper edge by dragging your mouse a little bit upward.  Do this while the selection still active. (See Figure 6).

10 Press [CTRL+D] to deselect image.  Now, click on Selections>Load from Alpha Channel. Load the selection you saved.  Click on Image>Blur>Gaussian Blur, pixel = 2.5

11 Click on Selections>Modify>Contract, pixel = 4

Press [CTRL+C] to copy the current selection to clipboard.  Deselect image by pressing [CTRL+D].  Click on Layers>Properties, remove the check under 'Lock Transparency'

Press [CTRL+1] to select the background layer, then press [CTRL+E] to paste the captured selection (this will be the copper wire).  Center the copper wire.  Click on Layers>Save to Alpha Channel.  Save this as a new selection.

Whie selection is still active, click on Colors>Colorize (Hue=30 Saturation=80)

Deselect image by pressing [CTRL+D]

 

12 Move to second layer by pressing [CTRL+2].   While holding down the [Shift] key, draw an enclosed selection at both end (as shown in Figure 8).  This is by using the "Freehand Tool" , (Selection Type = Point to Point     Anti-alias = checked)

13 Press the [Delete] key to expose the copper wire and press [CTRL+D] to deselect image. 

Press [CTRL+A], then pick the "Selection Tool" selection.gif (869 bytes) and click your mouse anywhere on your image.   Click on Image>Effects>Drop Shadow.

Click on Selections>Load>Load from Alpha Channel, then load the second saved selection.  Click on Image>Effects>Drop Shadow.

Settings I Used for Drop Shadow:
Color = Black
Opacity = 80
Blur = 5
Vertical / Horizontal = 3

Click on Layers>Merge>Merge All.  Finally, click on Image>Sharpen>Sharpen
